How we handle itRoof Leak Repair & Gutters
Alexander sits right on the Saline and Pulaski county line, with newer subdivisions next to older rural lots. Most of our work here is tracking down leaks, fixing flashing and installing gutters that actually handle a hard rain.
Alexander roof calls usually involve leaks at pipe boots, sidewalls and valleys on newer homes, plus gutters that overflow or dump water against the foundation. A typical leak repair runs $345 to $1,090, and new gutters on a single-story home often cost $1,260 to $2,840. We are about 25 to 30 minutes from downtown Little Rock on I-30.

Alexander started as a railroad construction camp and incorporated in 1887. Today it straddles the Saline and Pulaski county line, with AR 111 running north along the border and crossing I-30. Homes on the Saline side fall in the Bryant School District, and homes on the Pulaski side in the Pulaski County Special School District.
For roofing, the county line matters less than the age of the house. Weather does not care which side you are on. What changes is the paperwork: your property records and insurance documents name one county or the other, and we note it on our reports so everything matches.
Growth has been steady, and the housing mix shows it. New subdivision homes sit within a short drive of older ranches, manufactured homes and houses on a few acres.
Houses on a few acres outside the subdivisions often have a shop, carport or porch roof added years after the main house. We price those separately so you can see what each one costs.
Many subdivision homes around Alexander were built quickly, and the roofs show it in a few predictable spots. These are the leaks we track down most often:
Heavy spring and summer rain bursts are normal here, and builder gutters are often too small or have too few downspouts for the roof area they serve. Water overshoots the corners, splashes against brick and soaks the soil next to the slab.
We size gutters to the roof, add downspouts where long runs need them and extend the outlets away from the foundation. On lots with trees, gutter guards cut down on the cleanout trips, and we will tell you honestly which style handles pine needles and which handles leaves.
Fixing gutters and roof edges together often solves what looks like a roof leak. Rotted fascia behind an overflowing gutter can let water into the soffit and down the inside of a wall.
Alexander gets the same March to June hail and wind season as the rest of central Arkansas. Subdivisions with few mature trees take wind straight on, and we see lifted shingle edges and torn ridge caps after strong fronts move through.
Hail damage on newer roofs is easy to miss from the ground because the shingles still look uniform. We climb up, mark each bruise and photograph it so you know whether you have a claim worth filing or just a few repairs.
Summer heat is the slow problem. Many newer Alexander homes have dark shingles and attics with too little intake at the soffits, which cooks the roof from below. If your upstairs is hot and your shingles are curling early, ventilation is often part of the fix.
Call (501) 387-1152 and tell us where you see water. Alexander is close, about 25 to 30 minutes from our downtown office, so we can usually get out within a day or two for a routine leak, and sooner for water actively coming in.
We check the attic and the roof, find the actual entry point and show you photos. You get a written price before work starts. Most leak repairs are done in one visit, and we clean up and run a magnet sweep for nails before leaving.
If the leak turns out to be wider damage, like soft decking or a failed valley, we show you the photos, explain what changed and price the extra work in writing before doing it. No surprise additions show up on the bill.

That spot usually leaks because kickout flashing is missing or step flashing was installed short. On many Alexander subdivision homes, water runs down the roof edge and gets behind siding or brick instead of into the gutter. We open the area, install proper flashing and replace any soft sheathing we find underneath.
Many Alexander homes do better with larger gutters and more downspouts than the builder installed, especially where long roof runs feed one corner. We measure roof area and pitch, then size the system to handle a heavy central Arkansas rain burst. New gutters on a typical single-story home run about $1,260 to $2,840.
